Journal Entry-January 13, 2009
I took Anna for her 11 year old check-up today. She is almost as tall as me and growing so strong and healthy. Joe took Joey for his last check-up with the hand surgeon from his flexor tendon injury from football. His hand has healed perfectly which is an answer to prayer. That afternoon I got the call from the doctor that my biopsy results showed cancer.
I thought of the good news mixed with the bad today and remembered the story of Job. As his wife mocked him for still trusting God in such personal trials, he tells her in Job 2:10, "shall we receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil?"
